Rain Bomb

About a year ago I stumbled across this video - a time lapse of TS blowing across downtown Kansas City. Not quite a wet microburst, but a pretty good show of the power of a midwest thunderstorm in the summer:

 
It was impressive, but at least part of the effect was "enhanced" by selectively speeding up and slowing down the time-lapse recording.
 
Wait until you see multiple microburst near your destination airport...and read about an electric substation destroyed by one of the microbursts in the newspaper the next day...don't mess around if you see them from the air.
 
Yup. This is my go-to video for getting people to understand what happens during a microburst - the rain clearly shows what the wind is doing. I think it ought to be required viewing by every pilot, including students.
