Crash Landing

2006-07-19

Pilot Paul Hesse made a first-rate crash landing onto highway I-540 in Raleigh last week, when the engine in his Cessna failed. It wasn't the first time Hesse, a flight instructor in Oxford, has landed a plane in trying conditions. Paul Hesse joins host Frank Stasio to talk about what it takes to make a successful crash landing.

Was the airplane reusable, if not it was a crash landing
If it was reusable, then it was a normal landing without a functioning engine.

Wes not picking on you but..l believe he had an engine when he landed. It just was not operating at the time. :D

Reminds me of when an airplane made an out-of-fuel forced landing in Burbank, California, a few years ago. One of the responding firefighters, with a microphone in front of his face and a news camera pointed at him, commented that there was no post-crash fire, and added:
"Those passengers are awfully lucky there was no fuel aboard."
Honest. I saw it.
