Hello everyone. I went to a HIMS AME to get a first class medical in late December. I reported everything, one of them was that I took an SSRI for OCD for a few years and stopped mainly because I didn't want to deal with a difficult certification procedure for the FAA. It was a 60 days vs 6 months situation so I just went with the 60 day route because it just sounded like it's much easier to prove you don't need them anymore if you decide to stop than to use a different medicine. My medical is already deferred and still is deferred. The FAA doesn't have the (somewhat positive) psychiatric report yet. If I decide that I want to start taking one of the approved medications while deferred, what does it look like from here? Or should I do it after a decision is made? Any chance of a first class medical if I decide I still need the medicine? Without?
