The quick drain valve on my Lycoming IO-540 looks different than what you can buy. See attached photo. The one you can buy at aircraftspruce have a pin that can be twisted and locked. I have not seen the drain valve type on my engine. What is the difference, and how do open and lock it? Many thanks.

Looks like you just push it up to open it. MAy need to pull that lock tab out a hair to do so?

My plane has that exact quick drain valve. Just push up on the wide part near the base until it seats in that detent and it'll drain. Pull it back out to close and lock it.
