Had a flight a couple days ago on Delta from LAX to Sydney. Flight was cancelled due to WX.
I couldn't hear the exact announcement, but the pilot said the X-winds exceeded the max crosswind rating. The figure he gave was 20kts. The strange part was he mentioned something about the engine certification being part of the issue?
It was very windy, but the winds were reasonably lined up with the runway - winds were 220, runways are 25 and 25, not sure which one we were on or what the actual heading is. Flew out the next day no problem. Just curious what was behind the x-wind issue.
