Question about G 175 and FF

I was reading about the 175 on Spruce. I found this:

Q: Does the GPS175 interface with ForeFlight and Stratus?
No. This is only compatible with Garmin Pilot and the GDL 50/52 units

I have a Flightstream to interface my 530 to my iPad now. I want to add a similar setup to a new aircraft that has two fine radios. I can add a 530 and make one radio surplus, or I can add a 175.

Does the above question and answer mean that if I go the 175 route I can't use my iPad and FF with a 175, or does it mean that I have to buy the Flightstream card to put in the 175?

No. bluetooth works just fine unless you want traffic.

Looks like you can use bluetooth to the GPS175 for ahrs, flight plan transfer and gps. You should be able to use your Stratus via wifi for traffic as far as I can tell from the description to still see this on FF.

The GPS175 is compatible with ForeFlight.

Of course Garmin Pilot is another option, not that you’re interested in changing though.
