Basicmed flyer who may go back to an FAA I or II medical next year. History of basal cell carcinoma and melanoma, both previously reported, no change when I flew under an FAA Class III medical.
Dermatologist recommended efudex topical as a field treatment for pre-cancerous cells in lieu of freezing larger areas off. I usually have one or two areas frozen ever year or so. It appears efudex is classed as a chemotherapeutic, which are do not issues for the AME.
Are there any FAA concerns with the use of this treatment for precancerous lesion?
Thanks.
