Purpose of Manifold Pressure Drain?

Been a bit curious about this…why do some airplanes have manifold pressure drains and others do not?

Manifold design. If the manifold suffers induced pressure fluctuations, the drain hole is required to dampen indications and prevent fuel from flowing to the gauge.
