Mathematically 3, 5, and 7 would apply to your maxim.

There are planes (looking at certificated and experimental) that have seating capacities that are odd numbers. Now, someone wanting a single seat could get a cozy that holds three. But why? 3 going to 5 for a Bonanza, Maybe. 5 going to 7 for a potty seat in the 414, Maybe.

Not a maxim that holds.

in my case, I like having 4 seats. I occasionally (meaning rarely) have a 3rd passenger, but I do like having the rear seats for bags and storage when my wife and I travel.
