These were originally published almost 30 years ago. They were based on an actual experience of the cartoonist's husband. Instead of capsizing a canoe and being stranded on an island he was taking a 185 on floats to pick up some friends who were canoeing on a distant lake. The weather was bad and the plane was overloaded with the men and their gear and he flipped the plane on the lake. A twin otter was used in the rescue.
