Project - Mooney or Money Pit?

I think he's asking too much money for it with major damage history, incomplete and not ferriable, crap (IMO) avionics. I'd give him about 30k for it.

The only person who could buy it with a modicum of confidence about it being a reasonable value would be an A&P with time on his hands. And still nothing close to that price.

Greg,

I posted an ad from Trade a Plane for a mid 60's C model asking price was $29K that might be a better deal.

That's right - I remember that one. Quite enticing, but I have to be honest with myself - it's going to be another few years before the airplane purchase works its way up the priority list. Yesterday my wife said "When the house is paid off, use that money for an airplane purchase." :cheerio:

but...Once you fly mooney you never go back...err..something like that.

Unless the Mooney that you've flown and fallen in love with gets yanked off the rental line. :( Then it's back to flying what's available again... rats!!!!
