Everything Offends Me
Trying to get the most use out of my garage as possible here (having a garage is a new thing to me), so this is exciting:

Michael and I are repainting my truck, we sanded the crap out of it today, pulled the windows and a lot of the body pieces off. Good stuff, its coming along well. By the end of this weeked, we should be done!

I have included, among the pictures, an artists rendition of what the final job should look like. I'm no artist.

1) The truck, untouched, and ugly
2) Michael sanding the rear of the truck
3) Funny enough - you remove the Dakota Sport logo and it stays behind
4) The whole truck is sanded now
5) After Michael went through and wet sanded a large portion of the truck
6) What the paint will look like when we're done (LOL)

Cool deal, should look good when you're done. Electric blue eh? Need to make the rally stipes wider. Look at the 67-68 RS/SS Camaros...

Going Viper Blue and White Stripes. The Stripes will be fat, like Viper Stripes

Cool, in the "Artists Rendition" the stripes were narrow. It ought to look sharp. Next comes some wheels with spinners and a 9" chainlink steering wheel!    <I just crack myself up... >

Nick really likes that homeboy look, they are his peeps, Henning.

Are there any other interesting hobbies you aren't telling up about Nick???
Tie Flies?
Welding?
LOL Looking good!

Dont forget to wear a shirt with only the top button buttoned :)

and ballcap... straight flat brim, crabbed 38° starboard :)

Here's the results of day two: We got the bed off and sanded, the inside of it scrubbed clean, and the dents and stuff bondoed. We're very near time to prime.

Here's the pictures:

1) We removed the bed for access to the hidden panels to paint
2) The bed has been sanded and cleaned
3) Michael, hard at work sanding the doors
4) Nick, sanding the back
5) Nick, still working
6) Caught in the act
7) The truck, almost finished (there's bondo in a lot of the places shown here now)

Cool, don't forget to damp down the walls and floor before you spray.

End of day three results: We got the truck sanded and masked, then primered the entire vehicle. Lots of work (Michael is working his booty off here).

After that dried, we painted the grill, hood, roof, and tailgate white. Tomorrow? Mask off the stripes and paint 'er blue. Yay!

Here's the pictures:

Michael, you should spray in a bit of metal flake when Nick aint looking. Spell out, I <heart> d00dz, so it's only visible from just the right angle. Hell, get crazy with it.

I kill myself sometimes.

More pictures, less sofa cushion stuffing (freaking dog). After today, we have the truck painted blue, and the hood and wiper cowling have the stripes coming through. We ran out of paint so we have to wait until Monday to finish. All that's left is a bit of touch up and then the clear coat. This is amazing.

Looking pretty dmn good there Nick.

That is the first time I've heard welding being refered to as a hobby.

Well, my better half thinks of it as a hobby. right now, anyways. His first creation was a bridle holder for my tack room. It was 3 -two ft long pieces of 1/8" rod, welded together in a bundle. One of the ends was welded into a flat plate with holes in it so I could screw it to a rafter in the ceiling. the bottom ends were curved into wide 'hooks' of sorts. This was so I could have somewhere to hang my ponies blankies and sheets and to hang bridles from when it was time to clean them. Looked like crap, but it did the job! Now it hangs in the shop and holds tire chains.

Did he make something to replace it?

Occasionally very, very desperate people will ask me to weld something for them. I tell them I can’t weld, but I can melt two pieces of steel together. It's never very pretty, but always hell-for-stout.

Final paint update, next up: Sanding and more sanding, and then some more sanding, followed by sanding and polishing. Yay.

Here's today's pictures, including the final product (minus the sanding of the clear coat).
