Program to store passwords

I opened a new email address with Hotmail for a very limited purpose Of course I had to select a password for the account and while doing so realized my life is over flowing with passwords. It used to be that the only password I needed was to get in to the club house when I was 10. Now Passwords are everywhere on every site and they have a zillion screen names to go with them.

So here is the question. What secure program do you folks use to store all your passwords? ( Keeping them on post its does not count) When I had a Treo 600 I used Splash ID That came with the Phone. Now I have a Treo 650 and Splash wants me to pay a new subscription fee and never answered my emails so I'm ticked at them. Is there another program that I can download to my Treo 650 that is Palm based? I guess if I have to go back to Splash I will. Thanks
 
Does your password storage program need a password for access?
 
At work, I use an Excel spreadsheet that's encrypted and has a password. I used to have a program for the Palm, but it's been a couple of years since I had a functioning Palm, so I'll need to go back through my registration emails to get the program name.

I used TopSecret on my Palm(s) quite some time ago ... has a desktop companion. Solid enough that I implemented it at a client site a number of years ago for our database group. I haven't used it since upgrading to my Treo, as I have considerably fewer passwords to forget now...
 
I use E-Wallet. The program works on PC, Windows Mobile, Pocket PC, and Palm. I use it on my Palm and PC. Really like it.

Tried that! Companies changed required PW formats.

I used "bassackwards" for most passwords. The keyword for my reminder was "Mooney."
 
my passwords are all the same ... they all show up as

********
