Pratt & Whitney

I saw that today on eBay and chuckled to myself. I would have put a radial in it instead of a turbine. Much better sound.

Man, and I thought it was bad when people would call up asking about the Lycoming TSIO-550.

Got me excited for a second. a Cherokee Six with a PT6 would be pretty cool.

Depending on the dash number of the engine I bet fuel burn wouldn't be that much different. Plus it would be great for operating out of short runways.

You sure it wasn't a Centurion?

Well, depending on how you run a 300 hp IO-540, you'll burn about 12-19 gph in cruise. I think you'd have a hard time getting a PT-6 below 30 gph in cruise without going really high (Cherokee level FL250... What?!), although you would be going a bit faster.

I've always thought one of these would be fun.

I have seen 18 cylinder radials for A-1 Sky Raiders with a Chevrolet blue tie emblem on them - saying "Made Under License to Curtis-Wright"

Also the KS 155 radio. That must be a good one!
