How do I show a PPS file or a WMV that I have on my desktop to the forum?

Attach the file if it's small enough. See [Manage Attachments] when you post.

If memory serves from a previous thread, that'll only work for the .wmv file. The .pps will have to be hosted somewhere else then linked to here, or the pictures would have to be separated and uploaded as .jpg/.bit/etc.
Then again, I could be completely making that up.

Valid file extensions: bmp doc gif jpe jpeg jpg kml kmz mov mp3 pdf png psd txt wav wmv zip

...are the file types that you can upload as attachments. For movies the size is limited to either 5mb or 10mb depending on the format.

Or you can upload to a movie hosting website such as youtube, google video, dropshots, photobucket etc. for free. You can link to your video from your post.

You can't imbed video directly into your posts here unlike some forums.

We can add more types, if needed. PPS is a potentially risky type, but so is doc and we already allow it, so...

pps will be added shortly.

Richard Moore, AlaskaFlyer has found the pps online for me and I was able to put up the wmv; thanks!

The reason I asked about file size is because I just installed scads of video processing software on one of my servers, and I'm testing it at

www.flysportusa.com/gallery/ .

But I don't have a tremendous amount of time to find and upload test files, so anyone who wants to try uploading short videos is free to do so -- and I'd appreciate the favor.

If you actually have photos or videos that you would like to upload and keep posted for real, please feel free to open a real account and do so. It's free, and I have penty of server space. If you just want to play, create an account and delete it when you're finished.

Right now, during testing, I have the file size limited to 10 MB and the total space per user limited to (I think), 50 MB, so they would have to be relatively small video files. Once I'm sure everything is working right, I'll increase the limits.

No porn, please...

Thanks,

Rich
