My cockpit and panel lights seem to be insufficient in my 172. (I know... probably some of me, too!) Anybody know/recommend "portable", battery lights; attach or hook or velcro. Without having to mess with wiring?
Appreciate.

Some folks use LED headlamps. They can be found with a variety of light options (red, green, white). Useful on the pre-flight too.

Another approach might be to clean all the lights. If it hasn't been done in years then a little dusting can do wonders. Okay, it takes more effort than dusting but you get my drift.

May want to check the individual bulbs (if they're GE53) and replace them. Might just be dim. Also clean the contacts on the bulbs as well as the switches.

+1 on the headlamp. The stupid lights are going to fail sooner or later anyway, as my left side post lights have after only a year with the new panel cover.

We'll get 'em fixed here soon, but the LED headlamps (yes, two) always work. And meet the "portable" requirement.
