If any POA folks need an excuse to fly next Saturday:
http://calendar.poncacity.com/event.php?calendar=1&category=&event=9779&date=2008-05-03

This will be my first time attending this event so I can't speak first hand how good it is. I do plan to be there on May 3, if the weather is VFR. The word through the grapevine is that many people and airplanes tend to show up. Please do not come on my account (a boring 80 hr cessna pilot), but I would like to meet some POAers if you are in the area and hungry for pancakes.

Thanks,
-Matt

The Ponca City breakfast is the first Saturday of each month, rain or shine. They have eggs, sausage, pancakes, fruit, biscuits & gravy, etc. I think the cost is about $4. The breakfast is good for a fly-in breakfast - better than most. They've got it down to a science.

If the weather is good it will be very busy up until about 9:00. Lots of very bad pilots and a broad mix of airplanes at an uncontrolled airport. Keep your head outside the airplane and you will be fine. If you are aware than runway 17 has right traffic you'll be ahead of 90% of the people who go there.

I have breakfast there at least three or four times every year and I really do enjoy it. Unfortunately that Saturday I'll be in Teterboro. Have fun!!
