“So Polar Bear, why are you laying on the couch near lunch time?”
“I’m still hung over from last night, Sac.”
“Where did you go?”
“I went over to that hotel bar. Got to talking with some dude that says he’s some kind of charter pilot or something. Wore some white shirt with epaulets on it. And one of those police or fire chief hats.”
“Who does he fly for?”
“Don’t know.”
“What was he here for?”
“Said he was stopped over in between flights.”
“How could that be, the nearest airport is fifty miles away!”
“I don’t know, that did sound a little odd. Anyway, he kept whining about how people keep attacking him on some pilot message board. Said a couple of his threads got closed.”
“That’s an odd thing to argue about. I don’t get worked up over Internet message boards myself.”
“Yeah, he was even posting to some pilot message board right there at the bar. And he kept drinking. Bartender could hardly keep up. He called the bartender a jerk.”
“That doesn’t sound very wise. You don’t troll on the Internet do you?”
“Sac, I’m a Polar Bear. I can’t type on a keyboard much less troll on the Internet.”
“Oh, yeah.”
“Anyway he just sounded negative and I couldn’t stand it. I thought about eating him but decided instead to ditch the hotel bar and stiff him with the tab.”
“That wasn’t very nice.”
“I’m a Polar Bear, I don’t have to be nice.”
“Sort of like a person posting on the Internet. They feel because they are anonymous they don’t have to be nice.”
“But I have an excuse. I’m a zoo animal.”
“You sound a bit like a jerk yourself, Polar Bear. Just sayin.”
