I'm in Sterling Heights / Utica most weekdays for a while.

Anyone need a Safety Pilot or want to show off the area?

Also, suggestions for a rental are welcome.

Thanks,

Rob

I live and work in Macomb County but I am not flying any longer. I've been away from aviation for a while now so I'm not so sure about rentals either. However a friend of mine used to rent aircraft out at Marine City Airport. I know they had Cessna 172s and a 182rg.

We got a few of us here on the (l)east side of the state.

All the cool kids are west of US127 though.

Jean:

Why no longer flying? You had the awesome Bicentennial Cardinal RG, I recall.

Hi Ed, I take exception to that statement. I'm not on the west side of US127 and I think of myself as being one of the cool kids. Well maybe not a kid anymore but........ Besides, pilots are cool and I'm a pilot, so there!

Yes I had a 1976 Cardinal RG and I loved that airplane. When the economy went down the toilet it was just getting to be a little too expensive so I sold it in 2006. I've also had some health issue that would have had me grounded in more recent years. The only flying I have done since I sold the airplane have been a few flights with a friend in her airplane. A couple years ago we went to a fly in lunch and we saw Dr. Bruce there. It was really good seeing him again.

Well there was that time we left her stranded in Wisconsin...

Yup! I remember that. I spent the night at Moxie's place and she hooked me up with a mechanic who helped me get the plane back in the air. Moxie and I had dinner together and spent quite a bit of time talking about all sorts of things. I miss her a lot.

Rob - I'm based at Ray Community, 57D (aka "The Friendliest Little Airport in Michigan").

Highly recommend Berz Flight Training. Not sure of their rental/check-out policies are for transients, but they have a nice fleet (including a Citabria and Pitts). Give 'em a shout, Todd will hook you up.

I'm out of Grosse Ile. But, with no medical I can't safety pilot, and with no gyros, there ain't no point anyone being under the hood...

Then, there is that day job thing on weekdays. Sorry.

We love to show you Detroit from the air. Hope you stay in the area longer because our Lady won't be ready to fly before next weekend (11/8) - or maybe longer...

I posted several pictures in 'Daily Pics' to give you an idea. :)
