A small, local celebration of aviation. I like it. Hosted at the Sequim Valley Airport, W28, Sequim, WA smack in the middle of famous "Blue Hole." The "Blue hole" is a weather phenomenon in the rain shadow of the Olympic mountains experiencing less than half the rain than Seattle. Sequim is also the lavender capital of the USA. The entire area is quite charming. I highly recommend Air Affaire.

Alas, no chance for wing walking. After 12 years in operation Mike Mason's wing-walking academy was shutdown by the killjoys at FAA.

My grandparents had a farm just a mile or so east. Bought it back when cows were milked by hand. Growing up my brother and I stayed there for at least for 2 weeks every summer. Haven't been back since the 70's. Really liked the area and of course the seafood. Sequim on google earth looks nothing like what I remember. All of my grandfathers ranch is developed now.

Pilots should be very aware of the weather, much more so than inland. Winds got strong enough once it ripped the top off his silo.

I attended with the Sonerai 2 years ago. Great fly-in! My little airplane got quite a bit of attention. But, I was able to take turns watching out for inappropriate guest interactions with another aircraft owner and got a chance to see everything and get some chow. A lot of non-pilots and families with kids in attendance. And some good food too!
