Pattern Altitude
My goal this year is to hike the C&O Canal Towpath from Cumberland MD to Washington DC.* I plan to fly into Cumberland in mid-May, hike to DC and take the train back to Cumberland before I fly home to Alabama.
The weather will determine when I fly in mid-May. I will be meeting my son and his family to camp in Harper's Ferry for the Memorial Day weekend so that will determine my rate of march for the first 120 miles. After that I will take about four days to get to Georgetown.
*I hiked the towpath 40 years ago on the 20th anniversary of the Justice Douglas hike that saved the canal as a park and now have the free time to do it again.
