Planes collide Kalispell Airport in Montana

This pilot used his TBM like a jet fighter, based on Blancolirio's analysis of his previous flights. It looks like he may have been going well over 200 mph on downwind of one of his approaches.
What can be done about the 1% of pilots that are reckless, who increase insurance rates and decrease the credibility/perception of GA?

,,,who increase insurance rates and decrease the credibility/perception of GA?
He was spot on about insurance. Two multimillion hulls + 2 or 3 (I can't remember) smaller GA hulls. Huge insurance loss whether or not it's the pilot or an actual airframe failure.

This made me have a thought. We see people are all for downloading the insurance companies app and then are shocked when their premiums increase when the insurance company finds out they drive like it's a rental.

Could underwriters start looking at adsb data to determine risk profile?

I certainly have no interest in furthering that surveillance/insurance agenda. I'm also not convinced people are "all up for" integrating into the insurance monitoring bandwagon. My anecdotal experience regarding street sentiment on that has been the opposite.

You don't even need to download an insurance app. Just give Location permission to (almost) any app and it'll sell your data to your insurance company.

Here’s an idea: make no-fault insurance for any vessel illegal.

Then, those evil insurance companies with their diabolical underwriters wouldn’t need to monitor anyone’s operating habits.

Be responsible, be rewarded with lower premiums.

What a concept!

Like many "more $$ than sense" TBM pilots, I'll bet, he's going to take the insurance money and buy a 950. Tight turns and unstabilized approaches endanger EVERYONE.

That guy seems to be a flat hatter…

Yup. They rely on self-reporting, largely. I wonder what the accident pilot would report? That he follows all rules and goes-around on unstabilized landings?
