Plane down in water hazard

No injury reported, that's a good thing.

How many club lengths of relief does one get from an airplane?

I like how the article said it "landed upside down."

That'd be a real trick in a Piper Sport!

It had to be intense getting out of this.

if that happens you have the rest of your life to get out.

"landing at Addison" and "Piper LSA".... someone better go count the aircraft over at US Sport Aircraft at ADS....

Should we be adding a "Spare Air" to our MELs?

does water count as a prop strike?

Good question.
I bet it does. Water has lots of surface tension and can be hard

Ohhhh, Billie, Billie, Billie Barooo..............

And is totally non-compressible.

no it's not! the compressibility of water is about 3 x 10^-6 v/v/psi

(the engineer in me made me type that...)

and yes, the compressibility is important when dealing with large volumes and large pressure drops, something like the east Texas oil fields...

You're a frackin' nerd! :)

guilty as charged

I've derived, coded, and utilized the relevant aquifer performance equations...

and I don't do that stuff anymore...
