Rumor has it that this guy knowingly took off with questionable amount fuel, passed a hundred airports, including the one I fly out of which has the cheapest fuel in the area, and then came up short of his destination. Glad no one was hurt.

I hit quarters on both tanks, I hit the nearest button, land there and fill up. No exceptions whatsoever.

I cannot understand why one would experience fuel starvation in a populated area like this, if indeed this was the cause.

like steve said, theres no shortage of airports here. probably within about 10 miles of one most of the time.

It does boggle my mind how things like this could happen? I'm one that likes to go a little overboard and have more fuel than just enough, or not enough.
