Plane down in North Dakota - Three killed

Not much for details yet, other than it was a four seat airplane traveling from Wishek to Bismarck and crashed shortly after takeoff. Unfortunately (not that it isn't unfortunate regardless), the pilot was a 19 year old I worked with at the FBO here in Bismarck. Hard to say what happened as it was his home airport, so he was familiar with the area. It's rural ND, which means emergency landing spots everywhere and yet he ended up in a lake. I don't wanna speculate as to why until more information is released.

One of the fatalities was a 10 year old kid :(

Yesterday not a good day for GA.
 
I've flown in and out of Wishek. Sad deal all the way around.
 
This one hit home for me big time. First off I'm in ND and the second is I flew back from Glencoe MN the day this happened with my 9 year old. I took off in kinda iffy conditions, awos said 22g35 in Glencoe an hour before I left but was in line with the runway so I made the decision to go. When I left it was a little less windy but still more than I would casually fly for fun.

Terrible thing that happened, the other passengers were his aunt and her son. Sucks all the way around.
