Plane down at KDTO?

Was practicing some night landings tonight.
Went to Denton and tower said "Airport is closed due to an emergency"

I flew over and saw lots of emergency vehicles on the runway.
I asked the tower for details and he was not clear. I was able to make out "Nobody died" but the rest was lost in static.

Incidentally Mike, I asked to transition and the first thing the tower said (I kid you not) "So how was your trip with Mike on Sunday with all those dogs?"

That is a benefit to flying a unique plane I guess.

ROFL!!!! Zach and Charlie are good controllers and take excellent care of us. From their point of view in the cab, we must have lookeed like we were packing a clown car.

Even though the 182 is a club aircraft, they are good at recognizing/remembering my voice. More than once they've spun the Academy students on an extended pattern leg so that I could get out or in quicker.

KDTO currenttly is ranked the 2nd busiest single runway airport in the nation after San Diego in terms of TO & LNDGs. But the top tower crew we have makes operating there simple and a real pleasure.
