So my subscription was about to go TU, so I logged into foreflight on the computer, something I never really do, to renew my Pro SV, done.

Start clicking around and find that foreflight has a pretty sweet desktop setup, like skyvector but with all the foreflight goodies, color coded stuff, auto local time, MOS, plates, etc.

At work I normally leave skyvector up on the screen, yeah, adios skyvector!

How did I not know about this goodness!

They sent out emails to all subscribers a long time ago when it went beta, and lately they've added some stuff to it. Not sure I'd call it my favorite flight planning tool, but like most stuff today, it's better than telnet'ing into DUATS and using the auto-router back in the day. Heh.

For sure.

I like it in place of skyvector, it's for quick overview on a flight, and a nice way to keep a eye on the big picture.

For real planning I use FltPlan, which I also have sitting up on my screen, cocked and loaded just waiting for a destination in the flight plan page ;)

I need to play with that more. Sure sounds like it has some much more powerful features than the rest, when they're needed. I just don't need them much.

It basically looks like they took the ForeFlight codebase and ported it over to work in a web browser... nice to use it on the big screen and syncing with other devices. Still use Fltpln.com for IFR filing but for tinkering with routes and such this is great.

Wow, this is great! I'm a recent convert to Foreflight (since Garmin decided to remove Pilot compatibility with a bunch of external GPS devices...) - I didn't know about this and would also use skyvector. Thanks for posting!

Only having ForeFlight for about a month now, I was unaware of this also. Good share.

Yup, I just recently discovered that feature as well. Have not been at all happy with Skyvector since their last major change.

Another ForeFlight fanboy here that will gladly pay for their continually updated services.
