Placard requirements

I went throught the TCSD for my aircraft, by serial number, and found a kit and ordered it. It's taking forever to ship. In the mean time would printing the required texts of each placard on paper and the laminating them, and posting them properly meet the placard requirements?

I frabricated an oil cooler cover (stupid aluminum plate out of scrap) for my cherokee, as per AC whatever. The placard inside the airplane is still there, but there's also a requirement for instructions on the actual cover. So I took an indelible black magic marker and wrote the instructions on the plate.

Placards have to be posted in the aircraft,but they don't say what they have to be made of.
