I'm looking for reports on working with Johnston Aircraft at KTLR, Tulare California.

I find myself in need of a prop-strike teardown inspection, and they say they're ready willing and able to help, and with less of a backlog than most shops.

Dave Johnston rebuilt the TIO540 in my Skylane in 2007. It was a very positive experience.

The only problem I’ve had in the intervening years is a stuck exhaust valve, probably because I was operating it overly rich. After about 1,700 hours, the lowest compression is 75/80. It does pass a little oil, possibly because I wasn’t aggressive enough during the break-in period, but oil is cheap. Good luck.

Johnson did my prop reseal as a fly-in service.

I found them 100% professional and well-skilled.
