Piper Warrior II control wheel reomoval

Hi just wondering in anyone knows how to remove the control wheel from the end of the control tube on a Warrior II. When I checked from the bottom there appears to be a small pin in the bottom of the yolk. I know they must come off because you can buy replacements, just not sure how.

I looks as if it's held in with a roll pin. Is there a place where you can unbolt it under the panel? Maybe at a U-joint? (Of course, I assume that you are an A&P or are doing this under the supervision of an A&P.)

I suspect that pin hole you are referring to is a witness hole for an AD inspection.

If you’re not an A&P (which it doesn’t sound like you are) than you shouldn’t attempt to take this task upon yourself.

Get an A&P who is experienced with Piper products to assist you.
