Piper Matrix

So, Felix, 2 is your hottest? Mine as well, but I am also aware (now) that my max fuel flow is adjusted too low (as in, it is adjusted to TCM spec); I am going to have it bumped-up to 27.5+ GPH at full throttle.

2 is the only one I have had trying to get too hot, and if I climb fast on a warm day, I can quickly get to 405 or so on 2. I try very hard to get speed before VSI, and to cruise climb. It seems much better that way.

#2 is the hottest, usually by 20 degrees or so. I suspect that the location of the probe has something to do with that, too. I don't know off hand, but it could be that the factory CHT probe is installed there. TCM spec fuel fuel flow on take off is indeed way off. 0.1 * hp seems to give a pretty good desired take off fuel flow.

I think there's a bit of thermal runaway going on with the IO520 Bonanzas. Spending just 10 seconds to get up to 120-140 before leaving ground effect reduces climb CHTs by about 25 degrees for me...pretty neat!
