Has anyone with a Piper and GFC 500 updated to the newest software designed for planes without a fuselage mounted static port? It’s suppose to stop the oscillations while on alt hold.

We just had a GFC500 and GNX375 installed in our 1974 PA28-151. We are running 6.72 on the G5s (and all of the associated servo firmware). 6.82 is now current but we have not yet updated it.

Plane never flew this well, and no oscillations noted even in turbulence.

What are you flying?

I have a pa28r-180. The oscillations are intermittent. They have an update for models without pitot static ports on the fuselage. Garmin at one point wanted to use my plane to correct it but it was in annual. I’m on 6.82 G5’s. The garmin update was released this year Jan but I haven’t had time to take it in.

Do you have access to a version newer than 6.82?
