Piper down Peter O'Knight

that doesn't have retractable gear, right? I'm guessing that's what flipped it?

article said that eye witnesses stated he hit the tail into the water and then it landed right side up, the pilot then got out and then the plane sank and flipped over on it's way to the bottom.

So it sounded like he made a pretty good attempt to get the plane as slow and low as possible while making sure he didn't land nose first and cartwheel or go end over end.

Dude apparently has some skillz.

Be interesting to get the tail number to see if its someone I know, or if it was a rental. I tend to rent from a few places up in the Tampa area.

I wonder what it is about that airport...almost a year ago two people died there in a Cessna 310.
