The Paris (Texas) News yesterday had an article about this accident. They indicated that two witnesses heard the engine speed up and slow down three times. One of those witnesses said they heard what they described as a back fire.

The article also said that the plane was surprisingly intact. It also said that someone (NTSB maybe) said that the wreckage indicated a flat counter clockwise spin.
