During installation of inspection covers under inboard section of wings just
aft of the main spar, rectangular sheets of material resembling roofing felt is glued to lower wing skins. This was obviously done at the factory. Can or should these be removed? They are partially loose and/or cracked. I would think that their purpose was to stiffen the skin, but appear to be a place for fluids to collect, ensuring future corrosion.
Thoughts anyone?
