A Canadian friend asked me if I knew anyone involved in doing dog rescue flights in Canada. It looks like Pilots N Paws is USA-only, at least from the maps on their website. Does anyone here know of a similar operation north of the border?

There is something similar up north but they shut down during Covid and their website is still sporting the “not operating due to Covid” banner so not sure if they’re permanently out by now.

Only in Quebec. Outside of that Province, nobody really gives much of a hoot about French.

St Boniface called. They said ... well, I don't know what they were mumbling about but it sounded angry. :)

What's the name of the organization in Canada you mentioned in post #2?

The organization was called "Canadian Wings of Rescue". I just checked their website and it's confirmed, they shut down for good unfortunately.

Oh I’m with you. I would dislike my own comment. Anyone on here wants to team up to start our own Canadian version of pilots and paws?

I’d guess Canada doesn’t have as much need to move rescued pets long distances. They don’t have our South.

Hi all !!!! GOOD NEWS. Sorry but I had to join to respond. Because I am brand new I cannot post link, however the web site is canadianwingsofrescue dot CA.
It IS alive and has new/big plans for 2023 :)

This great organization was originally Pilots N Paws Canada but they later adopted the name Canadian Wings of Rescue. Unfortunately it was true that due to COVID (and other factors) they became unoperational for the past several years and were about to close their doors.

HOWEVER, over the past month or so myself and a few others have rallied and replaced the old Board with new board members and have been diligently working to establish things once again (a lot of clean-up and getting things in order right now). We still have approx 260 pilots across Canada registered and will be reaching out to everyone to update soon. We are currently working to get rescues/shelters and wildlife rehabilitation centres back online as supports as they are responsible for our PAXs afterall.

An 'official' [re] launch is being planned for April and a blitz planned for volunteer pilots. Part of a go forward strategy is to ensure the organization can be sustainable into the future so we are exploring a new online platform and many new partners and exciting opportunities. A more informed website will be coming soon and a clean-up of online outdated or miss-information is also in the works (but challenging).

THANKS to anyone that can support or assist and you will find a contact form to sign-up and note your interest as well. The bios of our current new Board and my email can also be found there. I hope this was helpful folks.
