Hello Aviators & Aviatrixs' - Wings of Hope is looking for a volunteer pilot to serve a 2-year mission in Belize. The perfect pilot will be instrument and commercial rated with 1,000+ hours of flight time. If you possess a servant's heart and feel the pull to do something truly meaningful for the less fortunate, please contact Annie at 636-537-1302 or [email protected]

What type of aircraft?

What is the compensation and or living food arangement?

Who pays for travel visas, conversion, etc?

based on this...

If you possess a servant's heart and feel the pull to do something truly meaningful for the less fortunate,

Probably about the same as those volunteering in Haiti, el Salvador, etc. It doesn't sound like a paying gig.

Yeah, but there's volunteering and there's paying to volunteer, are they putting the pilots up and feeding them, taking care of the conversions and ratings, or is this for someone with a "servants heart" but a business mans bank roll?

Also knowing the type is important, are we flying a overloaded 182 over iffy landscape, or is this a twin or something swinging a PT6 or TPE?

If you're interested, there's an email address when you can ask these things.

That's what I was wondering, has anyone tried to email or call for more information?

I'm not, just trying to help em out, having more details would get them more qualified applicants IMO.

I tried to send an email with questions and it came back as undeliverable.

Not sure why she uses the wings-of-hope.biz domain instead of the wings-of-hope.org site; both sites appear to belong to the same long time organization:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wings_of_Hope_(charity)

They are the same organization that has the Wings of Hope raffle for a Cessna 172:

http://www.wingsofhoperaffle.org/Plane-Raffle/index.htm

I notice that Annie's email also appears in that latter web site.

The next best thing to volunteering as a pilot would probably be to make a financial donation if one has any yen to assist.

With the poorly thought out volunteer job add posted here, I'd put my donations else where IMO, heck being pilots and all, just do a few AF flights or Pilots and Paws flights.

a) Belize chicks are not hot. It's not Brazil.

b) It's Belize. You insist on a CPL and 1,000+ hours for an essentially non paying gig. Come on. Something along the line of "can't be choosers."

1st post on PoA. No replies. Posted dead-end email.
C'mon, guys, how **upid are you to actually send messages to the email?
Every smart person stays away from scams like this. And most pilots should be smart people. :)

How does one make a donation when the contact info is apparently defunct? As you pointed out, the same email that she posted here is the one listed on that flyer.

Not sure what the problem is with your email, but I sent an email to the above link and it went through and I got a reply back in about 20 minutes. Her name is Anne Volland. I sent her a note telling her that there was some confusion with her post here and that she might want to come back and answer the questions. She replied "Thanks Mike", we will see.

So far, it looks like only one person here has gotten an email kick-back, so maybe it is just a problem for that person?
