This happened to me except I have fixed gear. I am on short final and I think I feel something on my head crawling around and then about 50 ft. from earth I get this massive burning sensation in my head. It took everything I had to focus on landing the plane. I actually thought I was having an aneurism or something. Went to the doctor and was cleared of anything serious. A day later I found the dead bee on the floor of the plane. Never saw him on the 1 hr flight.
 
Yeah but that insurance check will be sweet as honey...
 
I got stung by a bumble bee a month or so ago when taxiing on to the runway. I thought I had gotten him out the window but apparently not. His day ended worse than mine.
