I wasn't quite sure how to. I use microsoft picture manager but i don't know what max size is.

It's not bad actually and incredibly useful if you're doing mass editing.

Files in the 100-200K range are ok for us dialup types and are fairly good quality.
400K+ files are painful but worth it if it's something really good and there's not a lot of them.
