New version just announced at Ebace. Now they've increased range to 1750nm, reduced noise signature by 68%, given it redesigned nacelles, props and front wing and winglets. Still the fastest turboprop in the world at 402kt. Actually, it's over 100kts faster than a King Air with the same engines…:yes::D

This has always been a bit of a dream plane for me.

Gulfstream just released the G650ER. Still the fastest civilian plane and increased the range to 7,500NM.

This has always been my dream plane :D.
 
Yup, they're nice too. :yes:

But then you need to keep another pilot on the payroll, which will really break the bank when you've just spent $65 mill on the G650ER….;):D
 
Good to hear they are quieter. They flew into Camarillo so often that I would have to hide from my neighbors so they wouldn't complain to me. It was so bad that they never complained about the Hunter Hawkers, the F18's going into Mugu, just the P180's.
 
I like the new design and quieter is definitely better.

I actually enjoy hearing them fly over my house while on approach to JFK. No mistaking what plane it is.
One of my dream planes as well. Well at least I can fly it in X-Plane;)

I've heard that engineers on the project said the winglets do nothing but looks.
 
Didn't Diamond ditch the cosmetic winglets on the DA-40 because they adversely affected stall behavior?
 
I sorta liked the sound of the piaggio.

Quieter is definitely better for that plane. Saw them all the time at KOAK.

Winglets = new and improved. Great marketing move.

The old ones must be selling dirt cheap now, right??:ihih:

I know of one that sold for $4,500. Scrap value I guess. No engines, no props, no interior, no avionics, as is where is.
