Peter Tork Died

I am assuming he won't be flying anywhere.

I saw their first reunion tour in the late 80's twice.

I was seeing two girls and the wrong one found the tickets and said "This looks fun, thanks!" so i had to get another set for the next night and say, "I blew it, our tickets are for Saturday night" to the other.

I too enjoyed the TV show and their music. Especially their titular album.

The documentary of the band's creation and initial years is an interesting film. Worth watching.

Check out my Avatar. The S/O is a huge fan, we've been to many concerts, and we each have one of those red guitars. (I'm old enough to remember the hoopla over the fact that they Monkees didn't play on their own albums; watch the film The Wrecking Crew and you'll see that nobody did.)
They were 100% fun.

I was a regular reader of Tommy Tedesco's column in Guitar Player back then, and it was always cool to read about the sessions he played for the popular bands. He and Glen Campbell and Carol Kaye and a few others actually were many of the most popular groups of the day. :)

Ravioli's True Story Time: That is one of the shows I auditioned for at that time. Studs, Card Sharks, and Wheel of Fortune had me in for the in-person, mock show sessions. Never got on air.

My brother and his wife's family auditioned for Family Feud. They didn't get on but he and his wife were offered The Newlywed Game. She was up for it but he didn't want to do it.

So, the only game show appearance of the family had to wait until my Niece got on Price is Right. She made it to contestants row, but didn't get on stage. My mother was furious at her inability to price things OR use game strategy. heehee

I remember The Monkees when it was on. My dad grumped about needing haircuts while my sister and I watched. I always thought that it was a fun show.

Now there is only two left.

Loved the Monkees and sing along whenever they come on the radio. Interesting fact, Mike Nesmith's mother invented white out

Peter was my favorite Monkee too. I remember watching them as a kid. Peter, say hello to Auntie Grizelda for me.
