i see my doctor every month and everything is fine but i'm afraid to take my medical and spending a lot of money just to be denied i own a cessna 140 but it's 30 lbs to heavy to be put into the LSC. I'll be 70 next birthday and for me time is running out, age wise. i would like to fly my plane while i can still get in and out of it. any suggestions?:

The fact that you're getting peritoneal dialysis suggests you have severe, chronic kidney disease. However, it is still possible you can get a Third Class. You will have to submit "a current status report, all pertinent medical reports to include etiology, clinical manifestation, BUN, Ca, PO4, Creatinine, electrolytes, and treatment plan," and the issuance will be deferred to FAA Aeromedical. If you contact Dr. Bruce Chien, a specialist in difficult FAA medical issuance problems, he can probably tell you based on reviewing your data what your chances of success are. You can contact him via PM on this site (http://www.pilotsofamerica.com/forum/member.php?u=6) or via his own web site (http://home.comcast.net/~bbchien/site/).

Or he may just see this thread and post something here.

It is a rare person on peritoneal dialysis with a creatinine below 4.0. That is the practical limit for the FAA to certify someone, so your instincts are correct.

Switch to a Luscombe!
(former fellow C 140 flyer).

Keep in mind that in this situation, before you fly under Sport Pilot privileges without a medical, you need to discuss this with your physician to make sure you are safe to fly as you are.

Skip the medical and hire a CFI to fly with you in your 140. Comparatively, CFI's are cheap.
