PB crash ...

From the thread title, I assumed that the Purple Board had a hard-drive crash. Sorry that it is more serious than that.

On another forum a witness claimed the thing turned into a giant fireball. So what happened? Base to final stall? VMC rollover? Loosing one engine doesn't itself turn the aircraft into a ballistic missile.

Where is the tail of the aircraft? If you look at the picture it is nowhere to be found and the firefighter says "unable to locate the tail section". That is pretty weird for a takeoff accident; inflight breakup due to a thunderstorm maybe. Did they loose an engine, stomp on the rudder and break the plane in 1/2 up in the air similar to the Airbus that crashed over New York just after 9/11. Why else would it be missing?

I'm sure the plane was well witin the Va envelope, I doubt control input did anything to damage the airframe but speculation gets us nowhere.. Godspeed to all aboard.

I'm not religious but:
ז"ל
In Hebrew that means RIP
It is really sad to read about fellow pilots passing away.
No matter what the reason is.
