Passenger plane on fire in Moscow

Four dead. Four in hospital. In a fit of Russian efficiency, investigators have already preliminarily fixed the blame on pilot error.

Interestingly enough, when the local news ran that story, their "plane crash" icon was a shilouette of a Cessna 172.

Did you see the nose wheel tire hit the car in front of the guy filming?!

Actually they didn't. It's a speculation on forums. Apparently the specific airline had 3 runway overruns in quick succession, one of which was fully investigated and blamed on squat switches freezing. However, people qualified on the type claim that both thrust reversers and wheel brakes have overrides for this kind of failure, and so the crew should have realized the failure and applied braking in time. In other words, failure of squat switches exposed training deficiencies.
