Parachute Repack extended

FAA has issued the final rule for the 180 day parachute repack cycle. Good news for those of us who fly with chutes.

Sounds like it's effective after the next repack after that date.

Is there an ultimate life limit age for modern parachutes?

weird, i dont know whats up w/ that link.

john - not technically but there is a certain point where the chute is just old and cant be repacked safely. I know that Allen Silver will not touch a canopy that is over 20 years old. Thats fairly arbitrary, but Allen is considered an expert in the field and was a driving force behind the 180 day extension.
