Garmin decided to stop supporting the MX20 MFD which I've had in my Mooney for 5 or 6 years. The display went bad; Garmin said "tough luck", but we'll sell you our new GMX200 MFD at a discount. So into the avionics shop. As long as I was there, I had them replace the display on the KX155 NAV-COM2 which had lost some of its LED digits. And as long as I was there, how about upgrading the perfectly good GTX327 transponder to a GTX330 so I get traffic, which I have come to like on some other planes I fly.
So the bank account's lighter, but I like the end result. For sure the GMX200 is a lot better than the old Apollo developed MX20. I look forward to flying with these improvements.
