Well guys here I am in downtown Detroit on business. The highlight of my day was leaving Palm Springs International and having our Embraer Jet wait for two what seemed to be Pipers coming in for landings. They were so close I could see the silhouettes of the pilots as they landed. The wind was strong so those guys were making some serious corrections as they went in for the landing. Shoot, as our jet took off the wind was strong enough to actually alarm some of the passengers.

Oh and there were also several old V-Tails out at general aviation.

When did you first realize that the crew had taken you to Detroit rather than Denver?

I just fell asleep and next you know here I am. :D I had a one hour layover in Denver.

Definitely should have escaped out the door. We'd have fed you. We don't bite. ;)

Detroit's no fun, last I was there. Of course I was the guest of Allnet Communications at the time and I think that was 1996 or so.

They had cubicles built in about 1969 it seemed. The NOC was impressive, then you went through a door to people's desks and wondered if you had walked into a time warp. :)

Southfield? Was that the suburb? Yeah. Wow. Not a fun place to visit in early winter. Worse in late winter, I've heard.

I passed on trip #2. I didn't need to see any more of that NOC. (I was building one and the "parent company" wanted me to see theirs. I built mine for 1/6th of the price and it looked better and was more functional. Heh.)

Well let me tell you guys one thing. I have walked down some fairly rough neighborhoods in my days but downtown Detroit when the sun goes down is pretty edgy.

I was thinking back to the old school days while reading this... With a swipe of a highlighter pen the important information is quickly highlighted for future study and/or reference.
