This should be fun... Post your links (or pictures) to aircraft paint schemes you've seen that made you wonder "WHAT they were thinking when they did THAT!?"

I don't know why somebody who could afford to own a Pilatus PC12 would do this, no matter HOW much they liked flowers:

Its easily identifiable to ATC at Oshkosh?

When you have that much money you don't need a reason.

I'd hate to have to be the pilot describing that to FSS when filing a flight plan. Uh its royal blue with a tinge of Kelly Green and golden yellow accented with sunflowers. At least SAR won't have a hard time finding it.

Unless it's in a sunflower field... :D

You know...I've considered going with the "Austin Powers" paint scheme on occasion.

Groovy Baby!

It sure is different. Can't say that I would ever do something like that.

Hmmm...what is it with PC12 owners? I saw pictures of one painted like a zebra once. Check it out:

That airplane was at our airport not long ago and I was told it was originally a demo.

I say hats off to owners who are willing to take a chance on their paint schemes. I can only take so many three color factory paint jobs. Viva La Difference!

How about this blimp I photographed out my back door about two weeks ago? Anybody know who owns/flys it? I had a sudden yearning for Fruit Loops after I came back in... don't know why...

Dude, I would discount my rate to fly that around, just too cool.:D

The Cardinal owned by a certain Flying magazine columnist comes to mind.

You're right about that. I really don't understand what that scheme is all about.

Not an airplane...but pretty cool anyway. :D
I used to date a girl that had a file about two inches thick on that Bronco back when he was having it built (she worked for Ted's lawyers). Man, that was a looong time ago....

I'm not sure, but I don't think he owns it anymore. Do you know if he does or not? That is one mean looking off road vehicle!

Not a clue, but my guess is no. We're talking over 20 years ago IIRC. And yes, it is!

I LOVE these. Some people have said "Oy" at my paint scheme (which I did not choose, but will recreate), but it's nothing compared to these.

Judy

Then there's this one. I've flown on this airplane back when they were in business.
