P51 anyone?

God almighty I see years of work and piles of $$$$.

Your own P-51 might make it all worthwhile however....

Poor Swift. That thing looks nice, but it's been sitting since 04 at the latest. Shame

The swift looks good in the pictures.

I bet it will sell for close to what you can buy a flyable one for. ;) These auctions always seem to bring big money. I have no idea what it would cost to restore, but I bet $400K would be a good start and it will probably bring $1 million plus auction fees. :dunno:

I saw an article describing it as a P51 "Rustang"

Fully restored $7-10 mil, cost of restoration $10-15 mil, life expectancy 10-15 minutes.

Holy crap I didn't think it would be that much ...

If it's a rust bucket, probably a Mustang owner(s) may buy it for parts and the two engines...

It will probably sell in the $750,000 range. A restore will run around 1-1.5mil. Nice restored Mustangs are going for 2-3mil. I'm over at Airpower Unlimited all the time so I have a good feel for what things cost. This airplane is a pretty stock time capsule. If there is not a lot of corrosion it will be a straightforward rebuild. Don
