OK, with the mission of flying coast to coast, carrying 700 lbs (pilot, pass and cargo) which makes it there first and why?

Does the plane that loses still have its advantages besides cross country speed?

parts and work on GTSIO-520's is expensive but i believe that engines no the P-Navajo is an outright orphan.

Last I heard, Lycoming sold some parts for the P-Navajo engines, but overall the -541 engines are no longer supported. Continental does still support the GTSIO-520 engines.

As I recall, the two aircraft were overall pretty well-matched competitors. So they'll probably arrive at about the same time.

If I were looking between a 421 or a P-Navajo, I'd probably buy the 421, mainly because the aircraft has better support and better engines. While the P-Navajo is effectively a Cheyenne, they did change enough things with the Cheyenne - lessons that were learned from the P-Navajo about what didn't work.
